is this all there is ever going to be for the off line version? i forked out 40 bucks for the privelige to pay to play on line? someone tell me this is a misunderstanding. there is a horrible lack of info on what is going on with this sim off line.

It is cause they pulled their own forums down, forcing the users, such as Grey and myself to have to pickup the slack. Its a wonderful business model as far as costs to their company for support, but does make life slightly painful to the more veteran players.

Thanks Grey and GP!

I will play with the ideas, and tips you both gave me and see what happens.

As for purchasing the polluters, I think I will work on doing that! .. Once I fix my negative cash flow situation! ... It is just weird that I have something like $30 million, but am not allowed to buy things on the market!

GP, you said that you made it to the end of the game? ... The game has an end?? .. Please tell me you exaggerate! .. This is one reason I play sim games, no end!.. Just rework your city over and over until you find perfection!

BTW GP, thanks for the forums too! .. I am so glad someone put one up

Well, that's one of the major things you have to understand in CTXL, you have a CITY BANK balance (which is usually in the millions) and a 'Daily Tick' value (the amount below the large cash balance) this is whats required to purchase market stuff, city services, utilities etc.

I have completely wiped out Greybeard Central (My main city) 9 times now (as in wiped out I deleted everything on the map) and rebuilt it. It much easier when you have 10's of millions (100's in my case) to restart with. I wouldn't suggest deleting the map and re-acquiring it because you may not get it back.

The current evolution of Greybeard Central online now is the one I'm going with. Completely 'clean', all polluters imported and all excesses sold to OmniCorp. (Because 'The Don' doesn't cancel contracts an hour later)

Note on wiping city, don't remove EVERYTHING, leave a piece of road or outside road in, because if you remove absolutely everything, the game will reset your bank back to 400,000 on the next tick (bug reported)

Thanks for the tip on the city wiping! .. I would have likely wiped it clean! So it's very good to know I should keep -something- .. I have stabilized my city, and trying to rebuild a bit to get that cash flow up to recoup some funds, and then I will likely be following this idea... Get a fresh start!

I would certainly tell everyone of these 2 sites... If I knew anyone else that played CXL ... Most of my friends are more into RTS, and FPS type games... They look at CXL, say 'Thats interesting' and go back to playing Halo, etc.

But I do appreciate the hard work you are both putting in, and I am sure things will pick up a bit once more people start playing, and I am sure they will!

I have a new question!

I keep being told that my city 'has a bad reputation with ....' (Fill in the blank) ... Does this have any real bearing on the game play? .. Even tho I've had bad rep with offices, or mfg, the businesses seem to continue to thrive... However, recently I have had bad rep with Elites. Meanwhile I have tons of businesses not doing so well for lack of elites, while I have plenty of elite building lots sitting empty.

Bad Reputation with Elites means that they won't move in and the reason business are failing is the Elites are moving out!!..
